Shopping and services

Yorkton is the centre of the third largest trading area in Saskatchewan, serving an area with a population of more than 200,000. Retail services within the city are excellent and there is little that cannot be obtained.

The city is anchored, east and west, by commercial areas and shopping malls. Within these malls you will find major retail chain stores as well as independent businesses offering their wares.

Downtown Yorkton is home to many fine independently-owned retail businesses, as well as professional services and entertainment. Three major grocery stores provide seven-day-a-week service. 

Major retailers are also open seven days per week, but many of the smaller businesses opt to remain closed on Sundays. On Thursday evenings there is extended shopping throughout the city with stores remaining open until 9 p.m. However, many of the national retail stores are open every evening.

A pharmacy at the Parkland Mall (Broadway Street East) remains open until 10pm during the week for the convenience of residents and travellers. Several well-stocked convenience stores throughout the city also offer extended hours or around-the-clock service every day.

Thursdays and Saturdays are the days for the ever-popular Farmer's Market, held at the Parkland Mall. Crafts and home baked goods as well as farm fresh produce are available.
